ABOUT THE AUTHOR:  Jeff Kinney 

Jeffrey (born February 19, 1971) is an American game designercartoonist, producer, and author of children's books including the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series. In 2004, FunBrain and Kinney released an online version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The website made daily entries until June 2005.The book became an instant hit. with the online version receiving about 20 million views as of 2007. When many online readers requested a printed version, Kinney agreed and in 2007, Diary of A Wimpy Kid was published. To date, eight Wimpy Kid books have been released, including a do-it-yourself book and a movie diary. In 2009, Kinney was named one of Time magazine's 100 "Most Influential People" in the world.  "Dog Days" is one of the book series most influence book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.  

Book Review: 

 It's summer vacation and every kid is excited, well, most of them. for Greg Heffley, summer vacation brings a lot of trouble, not to mention the sizzling hot sun. At first, things are great, he get to go to the country club with Rowley's family. They would order smoothies and swim in the pool but Greg is not satisfy. His complains bought him a ticket to his boring old home with nothing to keep him company but his beloved video games. The bad news just keep on coming.     
   His mom wants him to go outside and play in the bright hot sun, his dad wants him to wake up early in the morning plus his annoying siblings became much more annoying since they're on summer vacation too. To make the situation grimmer, they're short on cash so there will be no trip to the beach this year. Greg was old enough to ride on the Cranium Shaker, the ride that proves that you have become a man, so that sucks. Worst of all is that he owed Mr. Jefferson money for all the smoothies he ordered.

  Then again, he had already decided to get some fun out of this vacation. First thing first, pay Mr. Jefferson back. Just then, his dad brought home something he have always wanted, something he longed for years now. His dad brought home a...
