Millions: Connecting

Well, what do you think bout Damien and Anthony, the two main characters of the story “Millions”? Then what would you do if you were in the same situation as these boys?
In my opinion, Damian was such a young saint in mordern life. His innocent thought and his saintly behavious deeply impessed me! Having a big sum of money by sudden , in stead of just spending money to satisfy plenty of his own personal desires as many people would ( including you and me,right?), Damian only thought of how to help poor people as much as he could! He would like to spend all the money he had in building many hand-dug wells for the poor people in Africa. While Anthony, who was only interested in money and personal benefit, insisted to invest the whole money in real estate. If I suddenly became a Millionaire just after one night like them, I’m not so sure that I could make such an elevated decision as Damian did. How about you? I consider that it’s always easy to be said than done. Do you agree that it’s so tough to struggle between our own temptation of buying things for our own and a sense of good purpose? Nowadays, there are still so many poor people around us. Fortunately, there are also many famous Billionaires such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Donald Trump …who keep donating most of their huge properties for many charity funds to help the poor and the victims all over the world. I think they are just the patron saints of the poor people in real life! These great people deserve to have our absolute admiration!
Throughout the story, I also realize that money cannot buy everything, especially friendship and happiness. Damian recognized that his friends tried to be nice to him just because they were paid. Moreover, since the day they found the money, the two brothers always felt unsafe and became sceptical. The trouble that the unclear money brought to them seemed much more than the happiness. My parents often said “Money was a real burden, sometimes!” I honestly didn’t understand  their  weird complaint  until  I  read  this  story.
The story also reminds me of the famous film “Slumdog Millionaire” by Danny Boyle .It’s also about an 18 year-old poor Indian boy who dramatically won millions dollars prize of the well-known TV game show” Who wants to be a Millionaire”. Have you ever watched this film? It’s a real touched and awesome one. You’ll also love its theme song. Don’t miss it!
